Whenever I have tried to play the game recently it has just been a blue screen:

Is this happening to anyone else?

oh this is an ugly bug... are you using ad blocker or something ?
any way you can share the browser's console errors?

if you want, you can come into the discord server !

(1 edit)

It turns out it was my ad blocker.

Here is the console log anyways!

Thank you for responding and also I am sorry for the late response!
(+1)

oh man, I'm sorry you had that issue. The game was free of ads pre-poki haha
no worries at all, and thank you for helping out! I'll see what can I do to make this work in all cases !

better way to make money :D

can u make a browser one?

it is ! coinfactory.dk

I think I have a good grasp of the game now, only person under 21 minutes with a 14m time lol 😎(the line)

THIS is how the game is supposed to be played ! well done!!!

i’ll find it hard to beat hahaha

(1 edit) (+1)

Damn! you beat me! hahaha how on earth did you do 14min? don't spoil it, but which tile was your key tile?

(+1)

Not sure what you mean by key tile, but i can tell you that you have to do a lot of selling and replacing in order to fully utilize the 4x ground tiles. I have a couple new ideas, and might be able to get a 13 with a lucky time saving box.

(1 edit) (+1)

You should make a discord for this game, I would love to give more feed back, ideas, and talk about my scores, but I don't want to overcrowd the comment section.

(+1)

Just realized how my messages sound. I'm sure you don't, but don't feel too pressured to make this game a huge project and burden. I'm just a bit obsessed with it lol.

me  too, my brain is exploding with features i still need to build hahaha

we are on the same page, i’m just exploring all the options. there is another option in itch io to have more like a forum approach, it would be nice if it’s correctly done.

but yes, i have found that for the general things the comments is okay, but to talk to that people that want to be part of the game at a different level is a bit complex

i’ll see what i can do !

(+1)

Surprised this was First place! 21 minutes, although almost half of it was saving up to 300b. Here is the design (bottom right was a jump pad deleted for box to be placed):

noooo you beat me !

we found the same strategy with using the bonus cycles on the overclockers. they just get more value out of it !

i think an under 20 is possible for sure too , I just need to be better with the timings

(+1)

I got to 300b at 16 minutes, and when i was spamming upgrade on the investor I accidentally sold it, and lost all 300b💀.16/17 is def possible. Also I really love the idea of altered tiles, like the 4x. I can't wait for new levels later on.

this encourages me even more to bring more surprises to the table!

i have many things planned but honestly i’ll also listen to what players have in mind, and how they react to the updates.

17 would be possible ? i’ll give this  a new try soon!

(1 edit) (+1)

I'm not sure how people have gotten under nine minutes. Even after copying the layout of a run under 11 minutes I could barely even get under 30 minutes. I must be missing something huge, but I can't seem to find it. It is just getting lucky with boxes?

Some patches were applied to prevent some of the unwanted behavior that gave some advantage on those layouts. ( not because of the advantage but because the game was not intended to work like that)

Scores will be reset soon just to have a better view of the recent patch updates.

PS: what was your score ? do you have a screenshot of your tactic ? i want to know !!!

I was playing the limited time map today and i got 22 ish.

(+1)

I got to 10t at 29:30 and NaN at around 33:30 but I forgot to take a screen shot of the layout, It looked really nice though

Also if you don't mind I have a few ideas that might slightly improve the game.

an interesting idea could be to make a sandbox mode, where the player has infinite money, and can play around with different layouts, in order to make an efficient design.

I would also love to see a quicker way to upgrade things. It's a really small change, but just being able to shift click on a box and upgrade it, or double click, etc, would be a really nice addition.

hi, you can indeed double click ! it’s in the tutorial but it’s not so visible :)

and a sandbox mode is tempting … i’ll see what i can do , it’s also good for development as well!

at the moment the plans are to improve e the after game, where you can see what you built and when  , and also analysis on the performance. (it’s a bit tricky due to the huge numbers and the difference in magnitude ahah)

i have some ideas on other secret tiles to add to the game, i’ll try to test them out and prepare them, they will be as always game changing and they will add more challenge to certain scenarios :)

(1 edit)

Oh, I must have missed the double click thing. This game is super fun though, and I'll be looking froward to future updates!

i’m new with itch io, but i think if you follow me or the game or if you add it to a collection you’ll receive the updates when i push a devlog entry ! i’ll try to keep them to the minimum so it won’t spam anyone.

the game is still mutating a lot so there will be breaking changes from what it looks now for sure 😂

Thanks a lot for that comment, it made my day for real. I created the game with that purpose in mind, and each positive message tells me i’m going in the right direction.

oh also , be careful with the screenshots you see here, because they do not show the process to get to those layouts, maybe people played around with certain tiles for a certain time and then they replaced them for something different that gave them the upper hand !

That’s what i had to do in “The Line” for example :)

(+1)

@linorabolini please do wipes with each update! so you avoid exploit leaderboards.

the boxes don’t give any significant advantages yet! but also those boxes are sent by the players ! they are not random.

do you see value on adding a login system so we can know who sent what ?

(+1)

Completed in 24 minutes. Feels like I could perfect it a bit tho, not sure how players are getting it in less than 10 minutes, must be a strategy I'm unaware of.

Hi there! thank you for passing by, and you are right, there are secrets all over the place, and there will be many more as the game grows :)

What’s important to me is that you liked the game and that you had a nice time playing. It truly is, i’m not aiming to get money out of this at all. (if something comes in it will be used to pay the servers)

there is also a challenge level that will be rotating from time to time, and new features that make each play a bit different.

Feel free to leave me feedback, follow or rate the game ! everything helps to get the game played :)

But once again, if you had fun playing, i’ll be just as happy.

fuck AI

(+1)(-1)

I’m partially in the same page as you, after using some AI tech to build parts of this game i found AI to be useful but at the same time it takes away the creativity aspect out of things, so certain things don’t feel personal anymore, they lose their candor.

I’m trying to keep AI to the minimum now, and change things my own way, to add it more personality.

Do you feel the same ?

(1 edit) (+1)

hehe big numbers

very big numbers

(+1)

found the limit

hahaha yes, omg 18mins to the limit.

Do you feel trees are useful ? I was thinking about making them and overclockers special tiles

(+1)

i never use the trees tbh

Good to know ! I have been checking the analytics about it and trees are used A LOT, but I guess because before they were super cheap.

(+1)

How are your centrals along the outside border producing anything? Theres no factories next to them. Is this a previous game version or something?

(1 edit)

the last upgrade allows it !

ups, spoiler 😅

(+1)

Four upgraded overclockers in a loop breaks the game. Noice

(3 edits) (+1)

the top scores are a bit hard to understand.

is it trying to say that 10% of people get 25 and 4% get 37?

i got a score of 65 where does that place me?

played again and got a score of 12 is that better?

(after a few rounds i realized the score is your time in minutes, time to get a sub 10)

(+1)

best so far, broke 1T at 10:45

(+1)

got it.

it made a new collum just for me

Wow, just Wow !

(1 edit) (+1)

hehe done in 9:41

i’ll nerf the overclocker in the next patch, but  to be honest i’m trying to beat your score too

Got plans to rework the summary screen to something more polished, that will come soon, I'm on your side, it is not clear at all at the moment

(2 edits) (+2)

Theres no tile to drag, i cant even start??? Its not even in the tutorial either

(1 edit)

Hi, that would be a bug, could i know what browser and operating system you are using ? it’s so weird the other squares do appear

(+1)

I downloaded the game from the itch app, and I'm on windows 11

(3 edits)

I'm so sorry to see you have troubles with the game, I'll try debugging using the same settings you have. I haven't tried the itch.io app, maybe it implements its own browser ?

If you want to try opening it directly from your browser (chrome/safari/firefox) it should work just fine, or even from your phone should work too if its updated to the later versions.

I'll keep you posted with what I find and thank you so much for reporting this, you may not be the only one with this issue

Update: good and bad news. It seems to be related to the itch.io app for some reason. I could reproduce the issue.

Update 2: I just found that their app is using chrome 87. So its 40 versions outdated... I'll try to find a solution and submit a request to update the chrome version of the app

oh dang, thats crazy. Ill go try it on Chrome. Hopefully itch can update its browser stuff

Thanks again for taking the time to help me track this issue.

It seems that the itch.io app is using chrome 87.. (currently the last version is 119)

There is a version of the itch.io app that will come out soon that has an updated version of the in-app browser that would solve the issue (hopefully).

I totally recommend just playing the game in your favorite browser directly.

I'm trying to get in contact with itch.io to push the update of the app as soon as possible, it seems to me that is critical for the app as well.

Thank you, hope you enjoy the game!

Nice game, simple but fun. Thanks for making this!

Thank you, comments like yours make all the effort worth it

Coin Factory Gameplay

(+1)

hi

hello 😂

(-1)

Borrows pretty heavily from Gridle. You should probably acknowledge the human who made that game, if you're going to give credit to an algorithm.

Hi ! yes I'm trying to get in contact with the author of Gridle :) thanks for pointing this out !

It served as a big inspiration and his game is awesome

I'm curious, is it this gridle:

https://notaninart.itch.io/gridle

Because I don't see the resemblance there. And it's nothing original; only a 2D version of a game I played 40 years ago.

Or is there a different one?

I also fail to see any correlation between listing your tools and listing your inspirations but that's irrelevant to my question.

(+1)

Nope, this one:

https://parsakaali.itch.io/gridle

(+1)

Ok, thanks! I was very confused about the inspiration from that...

(+1)

Turns out, printing money IS legal in 'CoinFactory'! 🤑 This game is a genius mix of addictive strategy and tiny factories making it rain. 👏💰 Count me in for the $1 profit quest🚀💸 #CoinFactory #PrintingMoney

(+1)

I'm far from rich but your stated goal of $1 amused me so I donated.

Regarding the game: the timer implies a goal. Is there one?

And I’m far from grateful for your support, it means a lot, for real.

That part of the game is still under revision, but for now it just serves to track your score. The final score would be the number of minutes it took someone to finish the game. i integrated a high scores system and i get surprised in the numbers every time i see it. I’m not so sure how people got some of the top scores.

Thanks again 1000 times for the support

You're very welcome! I have to admit that is the first time I ever donated BEFORE trying the game...

That's got to be great: players digging into your creation enough to get scores you didn't even realize were possible!

Thanks again!

(+1)

You got me hooked ! 32 !

nice art style , keep it going !

that’s so nice to hear ! i’ll do my best.

I’m glad you liked the game so far.
